Accessibility Statement

Declaration on accessibility

The Federal Chancellery strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (German: Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG) idgF) to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on barrier-free access to the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (German: Richtlinie (EU) 2016/2102) (Official Journal L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.govcert.gv.at.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with compliance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1" respectively with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) due to the non-compliance(s).

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

(a) non-compliance with the WZG

The "submenu" can be reached directly via the jump label link "To the submenu", this area of the page itself is erroneously labeled as "subnavigation" and may be empty.

In the German-language content, not all English-language texts have a language code. This violates WCAG Success Criterion 3.1.2.

In English, some sections are described or labeled in German and are not provided with the language code. Thus, WCAG Success Criterion 3.1.2 is not met. The English texts will be incorporated shortly.

(c) the content is not within the scope of the applicable legislation

Content from third parties, such as studies or presentation materials from external speakers over which the Federal Chancellery has no control, are exempt from Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No statement can be made regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with accessibility regulations.

Creation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 8 May  2023.

The assessment of the website's compliance with the WZG to implement the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was carried out in the form of a self-test according to WCAG 2.1 at compliance level AA.

Page structure and navigation and orientation

In order to keep the content as accessible as possible, most pages follow a uniform structure. The navigation contains the following jump labels to the page areas, some of which can also be reached via landmark roles:

· To content [1] (Accesskey 1)

· To menu [2] (Accesskey 2)

All navigation blocks are marked and labelled using the semantic HTML tag nav, header and footer using the semantic HTML tags header and footer.

The language selection is accessible via the list of the main navigation as the last list entry. You can switch to the respective other language.

All pages start with a first-level heading (h1) in the content block (main).

Further information for screen reader users

Screen reader users will find additional information visually hidden in the pages, for example:

  • on location identification in the main and submenus
  • Information on link behaviour if the link does not open in the same window
  • additional information in web forms, on tables and more

Scalable web design

The websites are designed responsibly for the benefit of mobile devices and strong scaling. The contents are adapted according to different window widths. When scaling in desktop browsers, please update the web page after setting the desired scaling (e.g., with zoom).

Language

The default language is set for each web page. Within a website, we aim to mark all text passages in other languages accordingly.

Link behaviour

  • All links open in the same window and are not explicitly marked.
  • If in exceptional cases links open new windows, this behaviour is marked with the addition "opens in a new tab" as a tool tip.
  • All links to internal documents contain the document format and size in the link title.
  •
